F1 driver debunks number plate story
F1 Driver Lewis Hamilton poured cold water on the story published by the British press that he bought the personalised number plate LEW 1S for two hundred thousand pounds. He said " I’m not stupid enough to spend a couple of hundred grand on a number plate. I wouldn’t spend £100 on a number plate". His response is backed up by the fact that he is a tax exile living in Switzerland and a such should not have a uk registered vehicle anyway. Lewis moved there when he got sick of being hounded by the British Press in his first year of formula one.
