Fencing equipment and gloves
A good fencing match is a high-intensity melding of combat and ballet. You can’t tell from looking at a blade how long it will last, but you can pick out a blade that has the weight, balance, and flex that you prefer. Fencers will push each other up and down a fencing strip with light flashing off their blades as they thrust, parry, attack and evade. Most fencing equipment gloves lack a cuff of sufficient size and thus some people purchase purpose made fencing or swordfighting gloves. In modern fencing competitions both foils and epees break, and in each instance a jagged, sharp, pointed break can occur.
